Three Victories for Host Latvia in Nationscup

Sigulda (RWH) “Family Day” at the Nation’s Cup: The Aparjode siblings Kendija and Kristers have won the qualification race for the Viessmann Luge World Cup on Saturday and Sunday (January 12, 13) in Sigulda, Latvia. Thanks to double Oskars Gudramovics/Peters Kalnins host Latvia was able to celebrate the third victory.

On her home track Kendija Aparjode won ahead of Russia’s Ekaterina Baturina and Birgit Platzer from Austria. Kendija’s brother Kristers, who won Gold at the Olympic Youth Games 2016 in Lillehammer, Norway, finished first in front of his team-mate Inars Kivlenieks and Maksim Aravin from Russia.

Second and third place in doubles went to the Italian pairs of Emanuel Rieder/Simon Kainzwaldner and Ivan Nagler/Fabian Malleier.
