Lillehammer (pps) Tønnes Stang Rolfsen and Gry Martine Mostue are the winners of the 2013 Norwegian Luge Championships. On the artificially refrigerated track of the 1994 Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer, the 25-year-old Rolfsen relegated his teammate Thor Haug Nørbech to second place. With his fourth-place finish at the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Lake Placid (USA), Nørbech posted the best ever luge result for Norway. Jo Alexander Koppang finished in third place. The winner in the women’s singles was Gry Martine Mostue ahead of Lina Qvale Harnes Additionally, Tønnes Stang Rolfsen, who earned a 27th-place finish in the overall 2012-2013 Viessmann Luge World Cup rankings, received the “His Majesty the King’s Trophy” (HMK) for his performance. This trophy is the highest award an athlete in Norway can achieve.
