Sapporo (FIL) A luge training camp was held at the primary school of Sapporo, Japan, already for the sixth time. During the course, former Olympians including Koji Kuriyama, Yuko Ohtaka Takashi Takagi and Kazuhiko Takamatsu, all of whom are former students of this school, teach students fundamental terms of the sport of luge.

Altogether, approximately 2000 training runs were performed at the Fujino luge track, former venue of the 1992 Junior World Championships. The event was organized by Toru Ito, a participant in the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, Canada, who is the manager of the local luge club today. Besides practical training, the former Olympians also showed the students a video on their sport.
