Oberhof (pps) Turkey is one of the youngest member federations of the International Luge Federation, FIL. And now they’re getting “into the act”. A total of six young Turkish lugers participated in the International Training Week prior to the FIL Luge Junior World Championships in Oberhof in the first week of December. During the 2009 Congress of the International Luge Federation, FIL, in Liberec (Czech Republic), Turkey and Tonga/Oceania were both accepted as Member Federations. Thanks to the FIL “Solidarity Programme” a luge training camp was organised in Turkey in 2010. Youngest member, by the way, is Kazakhstan, the 53rd FIL Member Federation.
