David Moeller from Oberhof, who has already been successful in the World Cup competitions, has successfully defended his title and led the team of Germany II to their gold medal. With a total time of 1:45,878, the 20-year-old German ahtlete, who only narrowly failed in participating at the Olympic Winter Games, referred his national teammate from Oberwiesenthal, Patrick Schürer (1:46,598), to rank two. The bronze medal was captured by Jonathan Myles (1:46,683), who also failed only narrowly for Salt Lake City at the US trials.
Regarding the women’s junior singles race local hero Nina Reithmayer won with a two-run total time of 1:21,203 in front of Italy’s Maia Feichter (1:21,397) and Germany’s Tatjana Huefner (1:21,467). In the doubles, the Americans Jukio Griffall/Dan Joye raced to first place in front of the two German doubles, Franz Koenig/Christian Kontny (1:21,675) and Marcel Lorenz/Christian Baude (1:21,852).
In the team competition, Germany II (David Moeller, Tatjana Huefner, Franz Koenig-Christian Kontny) came out on top with a total time of 2:15,237 against the teams of Germany I (2:15,952) and Austria I (2:16,469).
