Two potential ice-track locations on the short list for Beijing 2022

Beijing (RWH) Headed by the presidents, Germany’s Josef Fendt and Ivo Ferriani from Italy, members of the track commissions of the International Luge Federation and the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF) travelled to China toevaluate potential locations for the combined artificial ice track for luge, bobsleigh and skeleton. Beijing is set to host the Winter Olympic Games in 2022. In close cooperation with the Chinese hosts two locations have been put on the shortl list.
Before deciding FIL and IBSF requested additional informations by the end of August, such as the detailed layout of the lines. Immediately after that the final decision will be taken together with the experts of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Therefore an additional visit of the track commissions to China will take place.
Fendt and Ferriani were accompanied by the chairmen of the track commissions, Giacomo Dariz (IBSF) from Italy and Germany's Markus Aschauer (FIL) und Walter Plaikner (FIL) from Italy and Thomas Schwab (IBSF) from germany.
