Aileen Frisch, Dominik Fischnaller and Walker-Snith claim the titles
Whistler (pps) Three different nations have claimed the titles at the “U23 World Championships” that were carried out within the 44th World Championships of the International Luge Federation (FIL). The new U23 World Champions are Aileen Frisch (GER), Dominik Fischnaller (ITA) and Tristan Walker-Justin Snith (CAN).
The current junior World Champion Dominik Fischnaller defeated Taylor Morris (USA) and Canadian John Fennell to second and third place, respectively. Apart from Walker-Snith, the Italian doubles team with Ludwig Rieder-Patrick Rastner and Russia’s Andrey Bogdanov-Andrey Medvedev earned podium finishes. Kimberly McRae and Arianne Jones, both of Canada, claimed the silver and bronze medal in the women’s singles.
Thus, five different national luge federations claimed at least one medal at the U23 World Championships. Host Canada collected a total of four medals – one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
