Liwadija (pps) In addition to the controls carried out by the World Anti Doping Agency (Wada), the International Luge Federation (FIL) will from now on conduct autonomous unannounced training controls. This was decided by the FIL Executive Board at its recent fall meeting held in Liwadija, Ukraine.

As in previous seasons, there was no doping offence in the sport of luge in the 2005/2006 Olympic season. The last two doping offenses in the range of the world federation date six years back. In both cases, cannabis abuse was the reason for the positive doping results, which were punished by the involved national federations.
