Update race calendar artificial track 2021/22

New FIL Luge race calendar 2021/22 season


Berchtesgaden (FIL) In three months, the 2021/22 Olympic luge season will start with the first EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup on the new Olympic track at the Yanqing Sliding Center in China. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the entry regulations of the North American countries, the International Luge Federation, FIL, has to change its luge calendar for artificial track.

Instead of the 2nd EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup in Whistler, Canada, and the 3rd EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup in Lake Placid, USA, a double World Cup will be held on the Olympic track of 2014 in Sochi (RUS). 

Nine EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cups in six countries, six EBERSPÄCHER Team Relay World Cups presented by BMW and four BMW Sprint World Cups as well as the season highlight with the XXIV Olympic Winter Games 2022 in Beijing starting on February 4, 2022 and the first Women's Doubles World Championships on January 30, 2022 in Winterberg (GER) are planned in the General Class. 

The new FIL calendar for the 2021/22 season is as follows:

2nd EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup and 2nd Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW, Sochi (RUS): 26 - 28 November 2021 
3rd EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup and 1st BMW Sprint World Cup, Sochi (RUS): 03. - 05. December 2022 
4th EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup and 3rd Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW, Altenberg (GER): 10 - 12 December 2021
5th EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup and 2nd BMW Sprint World Cup, Innsbruck (AUT): 17 - 19 December 2021
6th EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup and 4th Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW, Winterberg (GER): 31. December - 02 January 2022
7th EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup and 3rd BMW Sprint World Cup, Sigulda (LAT): 07 - 09 January 2022
8th EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup, 4th BMW Sprint World Cup and 5th Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW, Oberhof (GER): 14 – 16 January 2021
