US team dominates Lillehammer Cup

Lillehammer (RWH) The national team of the U.S.A. has dominated the first Luge race of the 2016-2017 season in Lillehammer, Norway. 2014 Olympic Bronze medallist Erin Hamlin and the double of Matt Mortensen-Jayson Terdiman won the Lillehammer Cup on the Olympic track of 1994, while team-mate Tucker West finished second behind Austria’s Wolfgang Kindl.

Erin Hamlin delegated Rachel Germaine to second place. Local heroine Vilde Tangnes surprised on third place. She manged to achieve a personal best. In men’s race third place went to Dominik Fischnaller from Italy. In doubles competition Second and third place were captured by Peter Penz/Georg Fischler (AUT) and Italy’s Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber.
