Lake Placid (pps) The premiere of the SUZUKI Team Relay in the official events schedule of the International Luge Federation in Lake Placid was a big success und ended with the victory of the United States of America. Accompanied by the applause of the spectators, the US-team in the line-up with Erin Hamlin, Tony Benshoof and Christian Niccum/Daniel Joye won the SUZUKI Team Relay in a total time of two minutes 35.634 seconds. Second place went to Austria with Nina Reithmayer, Daniel Pfister und Andreas Linger/Wolfgang Linger (0.278 back) followed by Germany (0.385 back) in the line-up with Silke Kraushaar-Pielach, Felix Loch and Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch.

This year, the Team Relay is on the schedule of the FIL for the first time ever. There will be three more races in the SUZUKI Team Relay and – for the first time ever – there will be two events with the Team Relay at the European Championships in Cesana (Italy) in January and at the Worlds in Oberhof (Germany) in February.
