USA Luge is looking for the Olympic champions of tomorrow

Lake Placid (FIL) The USA Luge Federation will start the traditional luge youth search - the White Castle Slider Search - on Sunday, August 23, 2020 in Lake Placid. Due to the current situation of the coronavirus pandemic, this year's program with sleds on wheels will start later than usual and will be limited to the state of New York.
From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., boys and girls aged 9 to 13 years old can try out wheel luge under hygiene and distance rules.
USA Luge's spokesperson, Sandy Caligiore, reports: "Since practically all companies in New York State have reopened, USA Luge has decided to continue the recruiting tour because people want to participate in outdoor activities."
More than 250,000 young people have been introduced to the sport of luge in this national program since its inception nearly 35 years ago.
“We’re so proud to be a partner with USA Luge in its annual Slider Search, especially this year,” said Jamie Richardson, vice president at White Castle. “The pandemic doesn’t have to dash anyone’s hopes of becoming an Olympic athlete. This program is helping to keep kids’ dreams alive.”
