Berchtesgaden (RWH) Dwight Bell, President of the United States Luge Association (USLA) and his CEO Jim Leahy have met with the leaders of the International Luge Federation (FIL) in the FIL office in Berchtesgaden for an exchange of views. The meeting with FIL President Josef Fendt, Vice President Harald Steyrer and Executive Director Christoph Schweiger focused on intensifying cooperation in the field of sponsorship activities, extending the coverage of luge on TV and internet in North America, and future FIL events in the USA. Dwight Bell, who is also advisor to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Evaluation Commission for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games, further informed the meeting of the current status. The decision as to which of the two candidate cities Beijing, China, and Almaty, Kazakhstan, will host the Games will be made at the IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 31 July 2015.
