UTS Youth Festival 2020 invites young luge athletes to participate!

Berchtesgaden (FIL) All youth and junior athletes from artificial and natural track luge are invited to participate in the United Through Sport (UTS) online International Youth Festival!

This historic event is a unique opportunity for young athletes and youth teams to participate in a global online project. UTS is an initiative launched in 2019 by the Association of Independent Recognised Sports (AIMS) with a focus on encouraging youth to get more involved in sports. This unique event is under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Special Olympics, SportAccord and the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAIFS).

In view of the fact that the world of sports has almost come to a standstill due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the UTS movement believes that now more than ever, solidarity and unity among the Olympic, Paralympic and Special Olympics movements must be promoted and supported to promote and support Olympic values.

It is time to look at the crisis as an opportunity to promote health and safety with a common mission for the youth of the world. Despite the global pandemic, UTS offers young people around the world the opportunity to participate in an online festival.

The event will take place immediately and will be broadcast online until November 2020. The finale will take place on November 20. IOC President Dr. Thomas Bach says: "The current coronavirus crisis has proven that sport and an active lifestyle can save lives. With its own campaigns, the IOC has been working since the beginning of the crisis to make even clearer how important sport is for physical and mental health, especially in times of lockdown, social distance and insecurity. The IOC is pleased that the UTS Virtual Youth Festival 2020 invites young people of all abilities and backgrounds from the international sports community. We have taken on the patronage of the UTS Virtual Youth Festival 2020 and will also actively participate".
