Calgary (pps) Germany`s Andre Florschütz/Torsten Wustlich celebrated their first victory after nearly three years. In 2001, they won the World Championship in Calgary and now they are the winners of the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Calgary. Florschütz/Wustlich finished in one minute 28,796 seconds, with only a five thousandth of a second in front of their teammates Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (1:28,801). Third place went to Italy`s Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber (1:28,921).
Austria`s Andreas Linger/Wolfgang Linger took 5th place and defended the lead in the overall standings with 255 points, followed by Leitner/Resch (216), and Oberstolz/Gruber (215).

Patric Leitner (GER, Olympic Champion 2002):
„This is the second time we´ve finished in second place, first in Altenberg and now here in Calgary. It`s time that we should win again.

Christian Oberstolz (ITA, 4th at the World Championship 2000):
„Finally we managed to get a good result on this track. In the past we haven´t done so well in Calgary. It is more important to be on the podium than it is to be on the best italian team.”
