Calgary (pps) Olympic Champion Armin Zöggeler from Italy won the second race of Viessmann Luge World Cup in Calgary. After finishing only 8th in Park city due to the heavy snowfall he took revanche and clocked in both runs a new track record (44,602 and 44,516 seconds). The defending World Champion realized in a combined time of 1:29,118 minutes his 21st victory in Viessmann Luge World Cup.
Second place went like in Park City to Austrias Markus Kleinheinz (1:29,244) followed by Tyler Seitz (1:29,286) from Canada. It was his best result ever. Last time a canadian luge athlet standing on the podium was back in 1987 Marie Claude Staudinger, born Doyen, who finished third in Sarajevo.
Germany`s Georg Hackl finished (1:29,320) on fourth place followed by his teammate David Möller (1:29.342).
Markus Kleinheinz is in the overall standings with 170 points in the lead followed by Hackl (160), Zöggeler (142) and Möller (110).
