Koenigssee (pps) The TV coverage of the second stop of the Viessmann Luge World Cup series in Koenigssee last weekend scored top ratings in Germany. Two of the luge transmissions even made it to the “Top 10” of the most watched broadcasts on the German public TV station ARD. About 2.65 million viewers (market share of 15.2 percent) watched the women’s singles on Saturday, thus on seventh position of the ARD “Top 10”, while 2.82 million spectators (market share of 16.6 percent) even saw the men’s singles on Sunday which translated into the fifth rank of all ARD sports broadcasts, right ahead of the men’s pursuit in Biathlon. Only the women’s pursuit in Biathlon had a better TV rating. The doubles event on Saturday reached the best ratings of the morning with an audience of 1.20 million viewers (market share of 15.1 percent).
