At their first victory of the Olympic season, the Olympic Champions of 2006 in a total time of one minute 36.829 seconds banned Italy’s two times World Champions Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber (0,088 seconds back) to rank two. Rank three went to the reigning World Champions Gerhard Plankensteiner/Oswald Haselrieder (ITA, 0,224 seconds back).
In the overall standings of Viessmann Luge World Cup Andre Florschütz/Torsten Wustlich from Germany, who finished fifth in Lillehammer, are still in lead with 325 points, followed by their German teammates Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (300), who were sixth in Lillehammer and Linger/Linger (290).
