First victory in Viessmann World Cup for Germany’s Wendl/Arlt
Oberhof (pps). Germany’s Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt won the sixth race of the season to Viessmann Luge World Cup and celebrated their first victory in World Cup. At the luge track in Oberhof (GER), the Vice World Champions improved the start record to 7.804 seconds and in a total time one minute 26.169 seconds banned the Olympic Champions of 2002 Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (GER, one minute 26.231 seconds) to rank two. At their comeback, Germany’s World Champions Andre Florschuetz/Torsten Wustlich (total time one minute 26.237 seconds) in second run improved the track record to 42.999 seconds and finished third.
The US-doubles Mark Grimette/Brian Martin, Olympic Silver Medalists of 2002, finished eighth (one minute 26.843 seconds), Canada’s Chris Moffat/Mike Moffat are on rank twelve (one minute 27.248 seconds).
In Overall ranking of Viessmann Luge World Cup, Italy’s European Champions Christian Oberstolz/Patric Gruber, in Onerhof on rank four, (480 points) are still leading, followed by Welndl/Arlt (405) and Austria’s Andreas Linger/Wolfgang Linger (400).
