Oberhof (pps) Andi Langenhan (GER) won the last but one race of Viessmann luge World Cup and celebrated his first season's victory.
At the luge track in Oberhof (Germany) the third of World Championships 2008 in one minute 31,383 seconds banned his teammate Johannes Ludwig (GER, 0,083 seconds back) to rank two. For Ludwig it was the best result in Viessmann World Cup. Jan Eichhorn (GER, 0,094 seconds back), bronze-medalist at World Championships 2007, finished third.
Italy's two-time Olympic champion Armin Zoeggeler, in Oberhof at rank six, with 605 points is still on the lead in overall rankings of Viessmann Luge World Cup and on the brink of winning his ninth overall victory. Prior to the last stop of the World Cup in Cesana (January 30-31, 2010), his lead on runner-up Albert Demchenko (524), fourth at Oberhof, amounts to 81 points. At the World Cup finals at the Olympic luge track of Cesana, where Zoeggeler has up to now never been defeated since its opening in 2005, the five times World Champion only needs 20 points (that complies with rank 21) to fix his overall victory.
