Oberhof (pps) Fifth Luge World Cup event, fourth victory: Germany’s Felix Loch seems to be in a league of his own in the 2011-2012 Viessmann Luge World Cup. On the artificially refrigerated track in Oberhof (GER), the Olympic Champion earned his so far eighth individual victory defeating teammate David Moeller (0.209 seconds behind) to second place. Third place behind two-time World Champion Moeller went to Germany’s Andi Langenhan (0.289 seconds behind), fifth at the 2010 Olympic Games. The best result of the season was rank six for Russia’s Viktor Kneyb. Felix Loch is currently at the top of the overall Viessmann Luge World Cup rankings with 485 points to his credit, widening the gap to second-placed David Moller (370 points) to 115 points. Germany’s Johannes Ludwig, who finished in seventh position in Oberhof, is on third place of the overall rankings (311 points). Quotes Felix Loch (GER / 2010 Olympic champion, 2008 and 2009 World Champion) “Right now everything is working out just fine. It all panned out: the sled was set-up perfectly and the weather in Oberhof was fine – it was a truly great weekend.” David Moeller (GER / 2010 Olympic silver medalist, 2004 and 2007 World Champion) “There was nothing negative this weekend. The second place is just fine. I partied into my 30th birthday on Saturday. And, to be quite honest, I was still a bit tired today. But I pulled myself together in the second run and the result is a big boost for the upcoming competitions.” Andi Langenhan (GER / 2010 Olympic fifth-place, 2001 World bronze medalist) “I’m not really botherd by my third place. I simply had no chance to defeat Felix and David with my two rather bad runs.“
