Defective aircraft stops transport of sleds Innsbruck-Igls (pps) Prior to the season’s kick-off of the Viessmann Luge World Cup series next weekend (November 24-25, 2012) in Innsbruck-Igls (Austria), lugers from all over the world have to make do with an involuntary break. The reason: a defective aircraft in Moscow. This is why the transport of the equipment from the International Training Week in Sochi (Russia) to Tyrol has been stopped. The sleds will arrive in Innsbruck-Igls on Wednesday (November 21, 2012) at the earliest. On November 14, 2012 the luge racers completed a ten-day training week on the future Olympic track in Sochi. The official start of the practice runs at the season’s opener in Innsbruck-Igls was originally scheduled for Tuesday (November 20, 2012 / 08:00 hrs local time). In co-operation with the organizers in Austria, FIL Sport Coordinator Marie-Luise Rainer of Italy will now set up a new training schedule, starting on Wednesday. FIL Regulations specify a minimum of five practice runs for each participant.
