Lillehammer (pps) The Viessmann Luge World Cup starts the second and decisive half of the
season next weekend. After the four previous events at Park City (USA), Calgary (Canada),
Oberhof and Altenberg (both in Germany) Germany’s Olympic champion Sylke Otto and
doubles Olympic champion Patric Leitner-Alexander Resch and Austria’s Markus Kleinheinz
will wear the yellow starting numbers of the overall leaders on the 1994 Olympic track at Lillehammer,
Norway.
World and Olympic champion Sylke Otto dominates the women’s classification with three
victories in four event and 385 points. Markus Kleinheinz consolidated his lead with his first
ever World Cup win at Altenberg after three second positions and 355 points. Patric Leitner
and Alexander Resch took over the lead in the doubles’ event with now 304 points from
American Olympic silver medallists, Mark Grimmette and Brian Martin (275).
The last two events of the Viessmann Luge World Cup after Lillehammer are scheduled at
Innsbruck-Igls on January 25-26 and Winterberg on February 7-8.

Luge World Cup at Lillehammer within their sports shows „Sportschau live“ on Saturday

Eurosport will show summaries of 45 minutes each on Saturday (16:45 - 17:15 hrs CET ) and Sunday (21:00 - 21:30
hrs CET).
