Sleds now on their way to Austria
Innsbruck-Igls (pps) Luge racers from all over the world have been breathing a huge sigh of relief: The container with the luge sleds, stopped in Moscow due to a defective aircraft, is now on its way to Innsbruck-Igls (Austria). Right on time before the season’s first event of the Viessmann Luge World Cup next weekend (November 24-25, 2012) all the equipment is to arrive in Innsbruck-Igls late on Tuesday evening.
The transport of the luge sleds from the International Training Week in Sochi (Russia) to Tyrol was jammed due a defective aircraft in Moscow. In the meantime a different cargo aircraft already carried the container to Frankfurt/Main (Germany). After customs clearance the journey to Austria resumed, this time by truck. So it seems as if the official practice runs, scheduled as of Wednesday (November 21, 2012), can now proceed as planned.
