Germany´s three-time Olympic Champion Georg Hackl won the final of the Viessmann Luge World Cup at Winterberg (Germany). It was his 27th victory in a World Cup in an time of 1:51,066 minutes, followed by Tony Benshoof (1:51,831) from the USA and his teammate David Möller (1:52,033). After winning the Viessmann World Cups in Calgary, Königssee and Igls, the 35 years old Hackl from Berchtesgaden in Germany realized his fourth World Cup victory in the Olympic season. With this, Hackl also ensured for himself a place in the seeded group at the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. Olympic Champion Kraushaar won the overall title with 555 points followed by Otto (515) and Niedernhuber (410).The best result for the USA was realized by Becky Wilczak who finished on fifth place (1:30,410).
