Viktoria Demchenko on the mend

Sigulda (RWH) Russian luger Viktoria Demchenko is on the road to recovery following her crash in Königssee. Dr Ruslan Simashvili, the Russian team doctor, gave a statement explaining that Viktoria Demchenko was on the mend and had suffered no complications or serious injuries. The daughter of Albert Demchenko, a three-time silver medallist at the Winter Olympics, set off for Sigulda with the Russian team.
Viktoria Demchenko fell at the Viessmann Luge World Cup on 5 January and suffered a concussion. As a precaution, the 23-year-old was taken to hospital in Bad Reichenhall for observation. The Russian Federation posted a photograph on Facebook showing a smiling Viktoria Demchenko in hospital.
