Viktoriia Demchenko, Kivlenieks and Vejdelek/Pekny claim victory in Nation’s Cup

Lake Placid (RWH) Russia’s Viktoriia Demchenko, Inars Kivlenieks from Latvia and Filip Vejdelek/Zdenek Pekny (CZE) claimed victory in the Nation’s cup at Lake Placid  (USA).  At the qualifying races for the Viessmann Luge World Cup on Saturday and Sunday (December 15, 16), Viktoriia Demchenko secured the top spot in women’s event. Second place went to  her team-mate Katarina Katnikova. Raluca Stramaturaru from Romania captured third place.

In the men’s event, Inars Kivlenieks finished in first ahead of Russia’s Stepan Fedorov and Jozef Ninis (CZE). His teammates Filip Vejdelek/Zdenek Pekny pushed in doubles Ihor Stakhiv/Andriy Lysetskyy /UKR) into second place.
