Berchtesgaden (RWH) VIPs from Ukraine and Poland have just paid a visit to the President of the International Luge Federation (FIL), Josef Fendt. The delegation was headed by the president of the Ukrainian association Yuri Sobota, and the head of the Polish association, Michael Jasnosz.

The discussions with Ukraine’s association president Sobota, who was accompanied by deputy Anatoliy Malyshchyk and executive board member Ivan Bazarko, focused on the political situation in Ukraine. Sobota assured Fendt that Ukraine intended to remain active on the artificial and national track this coming winter despite the difficult environment. They were also interested sending a full team to the 2016 Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, said Sobota.

The head of the Polish association described the continuation and development of the tried and tested mentoring programme in cooperation with the German representation. The Polish team achieved an excellent eighth place at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
