Berchtesgaden (pps) The three-volume book on the history on the FIL, published on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the FIL, is now available at book stores. The book, written in English and German (ISBN-13
978-3-902480-46-0) by Harald Steyrer (FIL Vice President of Finance), Herbert Wurzer (FIL Chairman Sport Commission Natural Track) and Egon Theiner was published by “egoth Verlag” and is available at the price of Euro 75.
The first volume is dedicated to the FIL history such as the very first beginnings of the sport of luge, the foundation of national and international federations, the “birth” of the FIL, the admission of luge within the programme of Olympic Winter Games, the highlights of the FIL administration and many more interesting topics.
The second volume (statistics) contains all important results in international luge. An overview of the complete results at Olympic Games, World Championships on artificial and natural track, European Championships and all World Cup events – boasting not only individual results but overall standings as well.
The third volume (memorabilia) documents the pictorial representation of the sport of luge over the years – such as medals, pins, posters or stamps that were designed.
