David Möller Turns Second of Armin Zöggeler

Whistler (pps) After having claimed two World Championship titles Felix Loch from Germany reaches out for the Olympic Gold medal in Luge. At “halftime” in the Men’s race at the Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada, the 20-year-old from Berchtesgaden, Germany, sits in the lead.

Felix Loch, who had the fastest time in both runs at the Whistler Sliding Centre, is looking at a comfortable lead of 0.282 seconds ahead of his teammate David Möller prior to the final two runs on Sunday. Two times Olympic Champion Armin Zöggeler from Italy is currently in third, already 0.432 seconds behind Loch.

European Champion Albert Demchenko from Russia takes fourth position so far, 0.599 behind the leader.

Germany’s Andi Langenhan is currently ranked fifth (0.717 seconds behind). Daniel Pfister from Austria, bronze medalist at the 2009 World Championships in Lake Placid, sits in sixth place half way down the race (0.727 behind) ahead of the Top US rider Tony Benshoof (0.834). Best Canadian so far is Sam Edney in tenth place, 0.942 seconds behind.

After the tragic death of Nodar Kumaritaschwili from Georgia the day before the race the Men started from the Women’s start.
