Lake Placid (pps) The new World champion will honour the Junior Worlds with his presence: Felix Loch of Germany, youngest luge World champion of all times, will try to gain his third gold medal after 2006 and 2007 at the Junior World Championships in Lake Placid, USA on February 7.
His strongest competitors are local hero Christopher Mazdzer (USA), who won the Junior World Cup event in Calgary, Canada, as well as Germany’s Sascha Beneken, overall junior World Cup winner. By the way, Beneken is the vocalist of the World Championship song “adrenaline”.
Even though she is still eligible, defending champion Natalie Geisenberger of Germany will not compete in Lake Placid because she is focussing on a leading position on the overall Viessmann Luge World Cup rankings. Toni Eggert-Marcel Oster of Germany are the defending champions in the double-seater.
