Berchtesgaden (pps) World doubles’ champions André Florschuetz-Torsten Wustlich of Germany are still in a holding pattern after Florschuetz had to undergo surgery because of a slipped disc. “Perhaps in mid-January”, Germany’s national coach Norbert Hahn gives the earliest possible date for a comeback of the 2006 Olympic silver medallists. Hahn further added: “They don’t have to worry and can be sure of their place on the World Cup team – regardless of the results of their national competitors.”
While André Florschuetz is undergoing physiotherapy, his partner Wustlich is taking advantage of a bit of “spare time” and competed as an additional starter at the Nations Cup within the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Winterberg. However, the lightweight athlete finished on 23rd position on the unfamiliar singles’ sled, about one second behind the winner Robert Eschrich.
