Koenigssee (pps) Germanys European silver medallist Tatjana Huefner achieved her ticket to the World Championships at Nagano, Japan (February 13-15) at the Viessmann Luge World Cup event at Igls, Austria, last weekend. By finishing runner-up, the 20-year-old assured her ticket in addition to 2002 Olympic champion Sylke Otto, 2004 European champion Silke Kraushaar and Olympic silver medallist Barbara Niedernhuber.
The season is already finished for Germanys doubles, Sebastian Schmidt and Andre Forker, due to Schmidts tendon-injury. Thus the 2004 European champions, Steffen Skel and Steffen Woeller, will probably represent the German colours at Nagano besides the 2002 Olympic champions, Patric Leitner-Alexander Resch, and the former World champions Andre Florschuetz-Torsten Wustlich.
