The FIL Luge World Cup on Natural Track is moving from Austria to Italy. In Moos in Passeier the second World Cup race of the season is scheduled from Friday, January 10th, where the only pursuit races of this winter will be held until Sunday.

After two years the Bergkristall-Track in the Passeier valley is back at the FIL Luge World Cup on Natural Track, when in January 2018 the RV Passeier took over as a replacement for the World Cup originally planned in Moscow. With Evelin Lanthaler, Alex Gruber and Patrick Pigneter/Florian Clara the italians won in all races in 2018. This year there is a full program on the home track of World Champion Evelin Lanthaler: on Friday, January 10th, the doubles will start in the two races, followed by the single-seater men and women and the pursuit in the doubles. The World Cup weekend in Passeier valley comes to an end with the pursuit of single-seaters, men and women.

The best 16 women and the best 26 men of the World Cup standings are eligible to start in the pursuit race. The pursuit is held as a knockout race, i.e. the World Cup leader meets the last on the start list in the first round and the faster athlete moves up to the next round. The best four compete for the podium in the final.
