The FIL Luge World Cup on natural track will be continued with a double World Cup in the Passeier Valley (ITA) from January 14th to 17th. Local hero Evelin Lanthaler (ITA) could celebrate her 30th World Cup victory on her home track.

Evelin Lanthaler has been the measure of all things in women's singles for years, the 29-year-old has a total of 55 podium places, including 28 wins. Lanthaler celebrated her first victory in Olang (ITA) in 2014, unforgettable her record season 2018/2019, in which she won all World Cup races. The reigning World Champion and leader in the overall World Cup is still unbeaten this winter. In the all-time ranking, Lanthaler is in second place with 28 World Cup victories so far. The undisputed leader is Russian Ekaterina Lavrentjeva with 59 victories.

The defending champions on the "Bergkristall"-track in Platt are Evelin Lanthaler (women’s single), Alex Gruber (ITA/men‘s single) and Patrick Pigneter/Florian Clara (ITA) in the doubles.. The comeback of Thomas Kammerlander (AUT) is eagerly awaited, the overall champion of the last four years was not at the start of the World Cup opener in Winterleiten (AUT) in mid-December 2020 due to a corona infection and thus missed two races.
