Nationencup St. Moritz 2026, Herren Einzel

St. Moritz (FIL/27 Feb 2026) With the eighth of a total of nine competitions, the FIL Nations Cup entered its decisive phase on Friday morning, February 27, 2026, on the traditional Olympia Bob Run St. Moritz – Celerina. In freezing temperatures and bright sunshine, Yulianna Tunytska (Ukraine), Noah Kallan (Austria), and the newly crowned Olympic champions Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner (Italy) secured victories and important points in the battle for the overall standings.

Noah Kallan celebrates second Nations Cup success

In the men's singles, which started from the top start at 8 a.m., Noah Kallan achieved a special success. The 22-year-old from Eben, Salzburg, won the second Nations Cup of his career in 1:06.408 minutes after his maiden victory in Oberhof in 2025. Behind him, Kaspars Rinks (Latvia, +0.055 seconds) and Alex Gufler (Italy, +0.143 seconds) took the other podium places.

“I really enjoy being in St. Moritz. We trained here for three days before the Winter Olympics. I'm not allowed to compete in the World Cup because our men's team is so strong, but I'm staying until Sunday and will still be there as a forerunner,” Kallan explained after his victory.

With this success, Kallan also improved his position in the overall Nations Cup standings and, after eight of nine races, is now in second place with 370 points behind Ukraine's Andriy Mandziy (426 points). Alex Gufler is currently fourth with 353 points.

First victory for Yulianna Tunytska

In the women's singles, Ukraine's Yulianna Tunytska celebrated her first Nations Cup victory ever. With a convincing run in 45.826 seconds from Monti's Bolt start, she relegated Nina Zoeggeler (Italy) and overall leader Zane Kaluma (Latvia) to second and third place.

"I really like the track in St. Moritz. I also competed here in the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games. I came second in the test competition beforehand. I was still very young at the time, but I liked the Olympia Bob Run from St. Moritz to Celerina right from the start. The weather, the sun, the natural ice, everything is just wonderful," said Tunytska.

In the overall standings, Kaluma takes the lead with 399 points, ahead of Caitlin Nash (Canada, 370) and Embyr-Lee Susko (Canada, 326).

Olympic champions make their mark in the doubles team event

In the men's two-man event, the Olympic champions from Milano Cortina 2026, Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner, impressively underlined their class. The South Tyroleans set a new start record of 3.098 seconds and also achieved a new season record of 53.378 seconds. This put them well ahead of the Ukrainians Danyil Martsinovskyi/Bohdan Babura (+1.423 seconds) and the Romanians Vasile Marian Gitlan/Darius-Lucian Serban (+1.490 seconds).
