Alpes 2030 with 106 Luge Athletes

Milano-Cortina 2026 is still fresh in the memory, yet the Alpes 2030 Olympic Winter Games are already generating excitement – and will make history as the first Winter Games to achieve full gender parity.

On Tuesday, 7 July, following a meeting of the Executive Board, the IOC published the list of sports to be contested at the Games along with the quota places allocated to them.

Luge will have 106 quota places – 53 men and 53 women – contributing fully to the gender equality milestone that will define these Games. FIL's women's quota increased from 44.3 to 50 per cent.

The IOC confirmed the events men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and team relay as part of the Olympic Games French Alpes.
