Illustrious field of competitors at the Junior World Championships in Oberhof

Oberhof (RWH) Despite their tender age, an illustrious field of competitors is set to attend the International Luge Federation’s (FIL) Junior World Championships in Oberhof. When the medals in the women’s, men’s, doubles and team relay event are awarded at the world’s second oldest artificial track on Friday and Saturday, February 21-22, several medal winners from the Youth Olympic Games and FIL World Championships will be among the starters.

Austria will enter Hannah Prock, who won silver in the team relay at the 2019 World Championships. Lisa Schulte, who has some World Cup experience under her belt, will also compete in the Junior World Championships. Representing Germany will be Cheyenne Rosenthal, who has just won silver at the U23 World Championships in Sochi, along with two athletes who enjoyed success at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Merle Fräbel (gold) and Jessica Degenhardt (silver) and Russia's Bronze medalist Diana Logonova. Trinity Ellis is starting for Canada; the athlete finished eighth at the season opener to the Viessmann World Cup in Innsbruck-Igls. Moritz Bollmann (GER), who has already appeared in the Viessmann World Cup this year, will be competing in the men’s event.
