After the competition break at the turn of the year, the second stage of the FIL Luge World Cup on natural track is on the program next weekend. On Saturday, January 6th and Sunday, January 7th, the competitions in the doubles, women‘s singles and men's singles will be held on the 2022 European Championship-track.

Laas/Lasa (FIL/03.01.2024) The municipality of Laas/Lasa (ITA) is internationally known as a “marble village”. Winter sports fans know the village because of it‘s natural track run “Gafair” on the edge of the Stelvio National Park, where international luge competitions have been held for over 40 years.

The last time the World Cup stopped in Lasa in February 2021 with a double World Cup. At that time, Evelin Lanthaler (ITA), Thomas Kammerlander (AUT) and Patrick Pigneter/Florian Clara (ITA) entered the winners' lists. Lanthaler and Kammerlander were also on top of the podium on the second day, while victory in the doubles went to the Russians Pavel Porshnev/Ivan Lazarev, who also secured the gold medal at the 29th FIL European Championships 2022. Lanthaler and Alex Gruber (ITA) won the single-seater.

The World Cup in Laas is the second stage this winter, at the opening in Kühtai (AUT) Evelin Lanthaler (ITA), Patrick Pigneter (ITA) and Matthias Lambacher/Peter Lambacher (ITA) prevailed.

10 a.m.: 1st run women’s singles
10.30 a.m.: 1st run men’s singles
11.30 a.m.: Final run women’s singles, followed by flower ceremony
12.15 p.m.: Final run men’s singles followed by  flower ceremony
Afterwards award ceremony for the single competitions women/men

On Sunday, magician “Peet Magic” will entertain the spectators.
