Only a few days to go: On Saturday, January 8th, the starting signal for the FIL Luge World Cup on natural track will be given in Umhausen (AUT).
On the technically demanding “Grantau”-track in Ötztal everything is set up for an exciting season kickoff. The first competition is the first run for woman‘s single, followed by the first run fort he doubles. The two finals will be on the program from noon. At the last World Cup in Umhausen in February 2020, the "Azzurre" celebrated a double victory with Evelin Lanthaler and Greta Pinggera, ahead of Ekaterina Lavrenteva (RUS). In the doubles, Patrick Pigneter/Florian Clara (ITA) prevailed against the Russians Pavel Porshnev/Ivan Lazarev.

Two decisions are also on the program on Sunday: After the two races in the men's singles, the team competition will follow at 1 p.m. At the 2020 World Cup finale, host Thomas Kammerlander (AUT) prevailed over his teammate Michael Scheikl (AUT). In the team competition, the victory with Tina Unterberger/Thomas Kammerlander also went to the hosts from Austria, ahead of Italy (Evelin Lanthaler/Patrick Pigneter) and Russia (Ekaterina Lavrenteva/Aleksandr Egorov).
